Wind Messenger Fellowship
Core Purpose: Develop culturally grounded youth leaders who serve as wellness stewards, cultural knowledge carriers, and community mobilizers.
Objectives
- Cultivate a new generation of Indigenous leaders rooted in ancestral teachings, land relationships, and spiritual responsibility.
- Strengthen intergenerational knowledge transmission by connecting youth fellows with elders, runners, and cultural teachers.
- Equip fellows with leadership, organizing, and wellness facilitation skills to guide community initiatives.
- Reinforce identity, belonging, and cultural pride through movement traditions tied to place and story.
- Support fellows in implementing one locally designed community project that addresses a wellness, environmental, or cultural priority.
Long-Term Outcome
A national network of Indigenous youth leaders who are recognized in their communities as carriers of running traditions and advocates for holistic wellness systems.
